Sugar 6 Is Here! Hello Developers, I swear, this is the last time I’ll lead off the Developer Buzz newsletter with an update on Sugar 6.0 readiness. But that’s only because Sugar 6.0 is now generally available! If you haven’t had a chance yet to take a tour of what’s new in Sugar 6.0, we have a new video on our website that highlights how Sugar 6 is CRM Made Simple. In addition to the great new navigation and power features in Sugar Professional and Sugar Enterprise, there are also a slew of new enhancements and bug fixes in Sugar Community Edition. I’ll keep beating this drum over and over to our developer audience. Now that we’ve GA’d 6.0, it’s imperative that you get your SugarExchange listings and SugarForge projects up to date. Review your technology for compatibility with Sugar 6.0, and then update your listings accordingly after review. Of course, you realize that next month, I’ll start touting Sugar 6.1 readiness… stay tuned for details about the contents and timelines for 6.1! Cheers, Jason Nassi Open Source Tools At last week’s OSCON 2010 (Open Source Convention), we announced that we’re open sourcing a number of our tools for functional testing and performance testing. Three of these tools -- MeterMaid, SugarMMM, and Tidbit -- are now available on our Developer site. The remaining tools, SODA and SodaMachine, will be made available within the next 30 days. These are not just testing tools for Sugar, but can also be used with other web-based applications. Stay tuned to the Developer Blog for more information on how to download and use these tools, which are distributed through GitHub. Enterprise Enabler (EE) is an Agile Integration Software that enables rapid real time and codeless connectivity between applications, databases, control devices and cloud based services. EE utilizes AppComm technology which enables the real time browsing of a data sources schema at the point of connection. AppComms are also aware of each other to collaborate with the EE Data Mapping, Transformation Engine and Process Designer working as a holistic integration environment that includes development, testing, security, auditing and deployment in a single user interface. As a Technology Adoption Partner and Microsoft Gold Partner this technology also enables SharePoint customers to build virtual relationships across multiple data sources on the fly and make them available as external data sources with full create, read, update and delete (CRUD) capabilities in SharePoint 2007 WSS 3.0 or MOSS and SharePoint 2010 with the click of the mouse. Of course that’s just one of the many ways data is connected internally and externally at companies using Enterprise Enabler today.
